The realization unsettled assumptions he had carried throughout much of his professional life.
Until then, effective leadership had often appeared inseparable from decisive authority. Leaders analyzed. Leaders decided. Others executed.
The transformation quietly dissolved that understanding. As capability increased throughout the plant, decisions naturally moved closer to the work itself.
