As his reading broadened, so too did the explanations it offered.

Some authors described reality through psychology. Others through history. Some through systems. Others through spirituality, consciousness, metaphysics, or ancient traditions.

Each proposed a different map.

Each promised to illuminate the larger landscape. Looking back, he remembers how naturally he entered those conversations.

Not as someone searching for certainty.

As someone searching for coherence.

Every new framework explained something the previous one had left unanswered.

For a time, each appeared remarkably persuasive. Patterns emerged that seemed impossible to ignore. Questions previously hidden suddenly became visible.

Then another book would appear. Another perspective. Another explanation. Often equally convincing. Sometimes directly contradictory.

Rather than producing confusion, the growing diversity produced something unexpected.

Patience.

He gradually became less interested in deciding which author possessed the final answer.

He became increasingly interested in discovering which observations continued proving true regardless of the framework describing them.

Reality itself quietly became the standard.

Some ideas remained meaningful. Others gradually lost explanatory power. Still others continued evolving as experience accumulated.

The search itself changed.

Looking back, he no longer believes those years were primarily about choosing between competing worldviews.

They became an education in discernment.

He discovered that sincere inquiry required a different kind of discipline. Not the discipline of defending conclusions. The discipline of allowing every conclusion to remain open to deeper reality.

Only years later did another constitutional recovery become visible.

The purpose of inquiry is not to protect our preferred explanations.

It is to become increasingly faithful to reality itself.

From that realization, one constitutional recovery remained.

Stewardship begins wherever our commitment to truth quietly becomes greater than our attachment to any single way of explaining it.
