The ego is not an enemy but an arc—an arc of descent, maturation, distortion, and eventual transmutation. It is the scaffolding that allows the Oversoul to experience separation, develop individuality, and return with wisdom. To understand the arc of ego is to perceive both its necessity and its limitation.

This primer serves as map and mirror: map of ego’s stages across the soul journey, and mirror for initiates to recognize where they stand on the arc.

1. Birth of Separation
